- What Does “Cua Tu” Mean?
“Cua Tu” can be translated as “Death’s Gate.” According to local residents, there are several explanations behind this name. One popular story dates back to the resistance wars, when local forces used the mountainous terrain to lure enemy troops into the area.
The dense forest and rugged landscape often disoriented the invaders, allowing guerrilla fighters to launch successful attacks. As a result, the name “Cua Tu” became associated with the defeat of enemy forces.

The route to Cua Tu Stream is relatively accessible and not overly steep, making it suitable for visits throughout the year. However, summer is considered the best season to explore the area. The warm, dry weather creates ideal conditions for trekking and enjoying the refreshing stream.

Nevertheless, Cua Tu 1 Waterfall remains a popular spot for swimming and relaxing in the cool water.
The waterfall cascades from above, creating a curtain of white foam. While Cua Tu 1 offers a peaceful atmosphere, the second and third waterfalls are more dramatic and powerful. The surrounding landscape is enhanced by twisted tree roots, moss-covered cliffs, and sunlight filtering through the forest canopy, sparkling across the stream’s surface.
